FAQs

  • DesignScout is a full-service branding and design agency partnering with founder-driven, emerging, and established businesses. We help clients in food and beverage, hospitality, lifestyle, and family-focused industries build brands that connect and perform. From strategy and identity to packaging, websites, and branded experiences, every detail is guided by strategy, never just aesthetics.

  • 1. We start with strategy.

Every project begins with a clear brand strategy, so every design decision is backed by purpose and data—not just aesthetics.

    2. We don’t make up brands—we uncover them.

Our discovery process helps founders and teams reconnect with their authentic story and translate it into a brand that resonates.

    3. We’re aesthetic agnostic.

We don’t have a “house style.” Whether minimal or maximalist, timeless or trend-forward, our work fits your brand—not ours.

    4. We bring insights from every industry.

We leverage our experience across food and beverage, hospitality, lifestyle, and family-focused brands to cross-pollinate ideas and elevate each project.

    5. We believe in validation, not ego.

We use packaging validation studies, consumer research, and in-market feedback to make sure every creative choice performs.

    6. We balance work and life—and it shows.

Our long-tenured team works at a sustainable pace, bringing focus and consistency that clients can feel.

    7. We’re not a-holes.

Collaboration and respect drive everything we do. We believe the best work happens when clients and creatives genuinely enjoy working together.

    8. We’re a full-service design firm.

From strategy and identity to packaging, websites, and branded environments, we bring your brand to life across every touchpoint.

    9. We’re experts in brand longevity.

Our work is built to last—clients often return years later for refreshes, not reinventions.

    10. We measure success by your growth.

Our brands help businesses increase sales, raise perceived value, and strengthen loyalty. Because at the end of the day, great design should work hard for your business.

Brand Strategy & Process

  • A brand strategy defines who you are, who you’re for, and how you communicate your value. Without it, design becomes decoration. A strong strategy builds alignment across leadership, clarifies messaging, and drives consistency from your logo to your customer experience.

  • Our Brand Compass is a structured, collaborative process that uncovers your story, audience, values, and positioning. We turn those insights into a clear strategic framework that guides everything from design to marketing and culture.

  • Most brand strategy projects take 4–6 weeks, depending on the scope and number of stakeholders involved. Larger engagements with research or brand architecture can take longer. We balance thorough discovery with efficient delivery.

  • We start by listening. Through research, workshops, and stakeholder interviews, we uncover what makes your brand truly different. We then translate that into messaging, visuals, and experiences that attract the right audience and move the business forward.

  • Once strategy is complete, we bring it to life through brand identity design, voice development, and rollout planning. Many clients continue with us through implementation—website design, packaging, campaigns, and beyond.

  • Yes. Our strategy phase often includes competitive research, audience segmentation, brand naming, and key message development. We tailor each engagement to fit your business goals.

Branding & Design

  • A complete identity typically includes logo suite, color palette, typography system, brand pattern or iconography, and a Brand Standards Guide. Every element is created to work seamlessly across digital and print touchpoints. We’ll customize your final deliverables to meet your needs and budget.

  • We focus on holistic branding rather than standalone logos. A logo without strategy is just decoration. However, for returning clients or those with a strong strategy already in place, we occasionally offer design-only engagements.

  • We never chase trends. Each brand emerges from our deep discovery process and the distinct personality of the client and business. That’s why our work looks completely different but always authentic.

  • We start by listening. Through research, workshops, and stakeholder interviews, we uncover what makes your brand truly different. We then translate that into messaging, visuals, and experiences that attract the right audience and move the business forward.

  • Branding builds your foundation from the start. Rebranding redefines that foundation when your business has evolved. In both cases, our goal is clarity—making sure your visual identity matches your vision.

  • We measure success through tangible outcomes: sales growth, higher perceived value, increased engagement, and brand recognition. Many of our clients have seen double-digit revenue lifts and long-term customer loyalty after a rebrand.

Industries & Expertise

  • Yes. We’ve built brands and guest experiences for some of the country’s most beloved restaurant groups, from casual concepts to luxury resorts. Our hospitality work connects story, space, and service for a cohesive brand experience.

  • Through our beverage division, VINT Studio, we partner with wineries, distillers, and beverage innovators to design brands with depth and shelf impact. Every label and story begins with a strong strategy rooted in the brand’s origin and consumer insight.

  • Absolutely. Service businesses depend on clarity and trust. We help them define their value proposition, voice, and visual identity to stand out in competitive markets.

  • We love both. Startups benefit from our structured approach and launch experience, while established brands rely on us to evolve or refine their identity for their next stage of growth.

Working Together

  • Our projects typically range from $25,000 to $100,000+, depending on complexity. We also offer a $10,000 Brand Strategy engagement as a first step for businesses who want to start strong.

  • A full brand strategy and identity project averages 8–12 weeks from kickoff to delivery. Larger projects with packaging, naming, or web design may extend to 4–6 months.

  • Start with a conversation. Reach out through our contact form to schedule a Discovery Call. We’ll learn about your goals and recommend the best entry point—often our Brand Compass or Strategy phase.

  • We occasionally offer smaller “Power Sessions” or consulting retainers for past clients or strategy-first founders who need guidance before a full engagement.

  • You’ll work directly with our founder, Scout Driscoll, and our tight-knit creative team. We don’t hide behind account managers—our clients have direct access to the people doing the work.

Results & Impact

  • Our work has helped Goddess and the Baker expand nationally, supported Cooper’s Hawk with award-winning wine labels, and positioned Sommarøy Spirits as a Gold-winning mid-strength category leader. You can explore more results in our case studies.

  • Clients often see stronger recognition, better alignment across teams, and measurable sales growth. Many report increased confidence among staff and customers alike—the kind of impact that lasts for years.

  • We track metrics like sales growth, website conversions, and engagement lift, but we also look at internal alignment and customer perception. Real results go beyond numbers.
